17 March 2016 — iInterchange Systems Pvt Ltd; Software Development Center today announced that it has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®.
The appraisal was performed by RSA Consulting Pte. Ltd.
CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.
An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
The CMMI Level 3 Journey
“We are an organization where processes and methodologies already exist. We are growing in terms of our size and we felt a strong need to institutionalize our processes. We address the global needs of container shipping & logistics industry and hence decided to choose CMMI as a the model.
We wanted a process that is simple yet effective. We wanted to achieve clarity in internal sign-offs. We wanted a process where we are able to define, measure and review metrics. The teams actively participated in defining the processes. Hence they are truly realistic, implementable and improvable.
The end Goal is to have our offerings conform to highest quality standards.
Our processes have to be consistent across the organization and homogeneously blend with our regular activities. We see the CMMI level 3 appraisal as just a starting point and we would like to build our maturity level from here.
